"Anne - I wanted to take a moment and 'Thank You' for once again making "Self in Balance" a thunderous success for me and many other attendees.  I have attended the "Self in Balance" theme program at Mohonk House, for the last 4 consecutive years, and I know the reason for the success of the program is you.  By having an uncanny sense of perception you are able to present a program to a room full of women from diverse backgrounds and interest to realize that our many questions that we have within our being, can be answered also from listening to the quiet voice within.  By allowing ourselves to take the time for ourselves we can eliminate the clutter within and accept the road we are traveling down -- whether it is bumpy or smooth.  You make 'Self in Balance' a rewarding experience for all.  Definitely - looking forward to number 5.  thanks again, Maggie."

"I just attended my second Self in Balance retreat at Mohonk and, I didn't think it was possible, but it was better than the first!  I felt nurtured by Mohonk and thoroughly nurtured by Anne & Diane and other attendees!  The movie on Saturday night was so relevant..this is a gift I will continue to give myself!  Thank you, Anne & Diane!!"

Thank you, Anne & Diane!!"

"Attending the Self in Balance workshop this year Jan 08, was like coming home to friends; my first workshop was in Jan 07 where I attended by myself unknowing of what the weekend was about to bring but in need of change and support and guidance; well I got that at the Self in Balance in Jan of 2007 at Mohonk and so much more, Anne gives you practical ways to look into yourself and all of a sudden you can clearly understand things that have been foggy for so long.  I am not saying that all of a sudden your life is peaches and cream, but wow ! you are able to handle what comes your way and what is present in your life with clarity and strength, something you had in you all the time you just had to find it, and that's what a weekend of Self in Balance does !
Your going to have your peaks and your valleys throughout the year & life, but the stories of the trials and tribulations and the remarkable women who are brave enough to share their story and who offer their supportive hands throughout the course of the weekend combined with the way Anne is able to brillantly and yet simply explain why ? there are physical and emotional issues associated with these events will literally carry you through the good and the bad, because you finally understand.
And then here you are 12 months later and you are so excited to see your friends, because although it may have only been a weekend you shared, that bond last and picks back up again - I can't explain the GIFT of Self in Balance, I can only say give it to yourself if you are ready to live a better life, a more fulfilled, simplified life!!!"

"I attended the Self In Balance retreat on January 5, 6 and 7, 2007 at Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, NY for the very first time.  I struggle putting into words what that retreat, your words and the words of every woman in that room meant to me.  I can only say that you have helped me change my life and in a direction I never thought possible.   Spending the weekend in one of the most beautiful places I can imagine, surrounded by women brave enough to share their sadness, triumphs, determination, perseverance and hope is something I carry with me every day since leaving.  I can finally feel my life! I cannot wait to see you all again next year at Mohonk.  Love, Amanda Somers, Albany, NY

"Managing our Stress in Extremely Stressful Times" brought new light to the impact stress really does have on our health.  Anne suggested valuable stills to use in personal and professional situations that were practical to implement.  She provided useful handouts and recommended books for reference in the future.  Anne was quite knowledgeable, and her passion for the subject showed throughout the seminar.  It is evident that she practices what she preaches."

"Recently, I participated in Ms. Quinn's conference entitled, "Changing Your Thinking, Change Your Life."  Pertinent information was provided during this experience.  I believe strongly in the philosophy, "you can't change behavior by doing the same thing."  This refreshing overview of strategies, research and real-life examples gave me new "tools" to apply not only to my clients but myself as well.  Ms. Quinn has a holistic approach which is founded in trial based research.  She presents theories and cases from several respected authors, psychologist and holistic practitioners coupled with her own findings and views.  This multifaceted approach gives her audience a balanced perspective.  The content and correlation of the material Ms. Quinn presents is extremely pertinent.  Her presentation style is professional and welcoming.  Participants are not lectured; they are an active participant in each presentation.  Each person leaves her conferences informed, changed and renewed. "

"-Anne's workshops are a wonderful combination of simple yet profound concepts, tools and techniques. In the high stress world that we all live and work in this information is a must for every professional who wants to achieve balance, wellness and optimal effectiveness in both their professional and personal lives."  Best Regards, Julia

-During the week of 5 May 03, I attended one of the most interesting, enjoyable, and beneficial programs that I have ever taken. The entire class responded fully and became closely integrated. The program was sponsored by Sullivan County Community College at Monticello, NY, and conducted by Anne E. Quinn. This activity, "Qi gong", was discovered thousands of years ago by the Chinese. It is a basic form of mind/body therapy that enables you to care for your physical and mental health by yourself. By bringing the mind inside the body, focusing on special points that help the body relax and energy to circulate, both mind and body become peaceful. "Qi", pronounced "chee", is the Chinese word for energy of life force; "gong" means practicing something over and over. The program is adaptable to people with various conditions. The results were immediate, and everyone became enthused and close to each other. -Being able to discover a course of this kind is what makes Elderhostel so very special. Publicity will enable many others to also benefit. "  Morton R. Eichel

"Ann :) I just wanted to thank you for today, I needed that validation. I hope you continue to come to Beth Israel and show us your stuff!! Even AFTER you meet Oprah :)"   Sincerely, Debbie B

"On behalf of Superintendent Annets and our participating population, please accept our heartfelt thanks for your recent presentation at Wallkill Correctional Facility. At Wallkill, what you see is what you get, and the attentive and enthusiastic response was authentic. Even in the hallways later on that day I heard very positive comments. Indeed this was a special event for us and represented a highlight of our Black History Month activities."  George McGrath, Deputy Superintendent for Program Services

"At the conclusion of Anne Quinn's seminar "Understanding Trauma: The Hookup Between Addiction and Untreated Trauma" at St. Christopher's Inn on October 25, 2001, I had a better view of the missing pieces of my life's puzzle. While most attendees were caregivers learning the finer points of addiction treatment, my interest was solely in my own healing. As a business owner in Dutchess County and a recovering alcoholic, I found Ms. Quinn's logical/emotional/physical guidance irresistible. She skillfully invites listeners to examine their own trauma in the light of the healing which issues from the trauma itself. She reinforces her 'Yin-Yang' approach with audience participation in the physical application of Qi Gong. This is not the first Anne Quinn seminar to which I have been treated, nor the last."  Al K., Hopewell Junction, NY

"Anne's vibrant personality, obviously speaking from creative experience in coping with the pressures and stresses so prevalent in our modern society, helped to draw out the workshop participants to share many of our own individual lifestyle situations so we could see that we are not all in this alone - that we are not unusual in that we share many similar stresses, and that virtually no normal person has everything together. Anne keeps people active and involved, validating all experiences; we were not just slugs in the audience being lectured to. Such group sessions are empowering, enabling participants to put things in perspective, and to maintain their sense of humor, humanity and community, thereby seeing the big picture, and to persevere. I personally felt encouraged and renewed. Good show."  Louis S., Urban Forester, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation

"This workshop was FANTASTIC! Please make this a frequent event for the sanity and the health of the staff. Anne was wonderful!" Diane T., Putnam Family Services, Brewster, N.Y.

"I can't believe one day could make such a difference! I feel like I have a direction to follow now. THANK YOU for making this day happen and bringing Anne into our lives!" Ricki M., Seafield Center, Westhampton, N.Y.

" Thank you, Anne, for a wonderful day! Even though I walked in today feeling rushed and pressured, I am going home feeling refreshed and like I know what I need to do for myself. I especially liked the handouts, and am looking forward to reading them this weekend and to buying some of the books on your suggested reading list. I have allowed myself to get in pretty bad shape the last 7 years, but I now know how to begin to reverse that so that I can get 'hooked on feeling good.' Thanks, Anne, for putting this in a way that kept me feeling positive and not like it's all a lost cause." Counselor, North General Hospital, NYC

"Thank you for your terrific presentation! I have seen some of the attendees practicing their 'first step' to progress commitments as I walk up the stairs in my building". An Administrator for the State University of New York.
